Verdict
FORTE DEI MARMI is taken to land this handicap at the main expense of Global, Dancourt and Midnight Cruiser. Luca Cumani's lightly-raced colt just edged out Sandor to win on his handicap debut at Goodwood last month. He was returning from a break and he was good value for his winning margin that day and the race has worked out really well. He looks to be on the upgrade, the yard are in good form and he looks a good bet to score again. Dancourt was a beaten favourite last time when he finished second behind Dalradian at Lingfield. However, he was returning from a break of 194-days so he was entitled to need the run. This step-up in trip should suit and with the yard in decent form he looks to have a sound chance. Global has been in great form and he is chasing his fourth success in a row here. However, the form of his most recent win has since taken a bit of a knock and he could be vulnerable as he looks to continue his one hundred per-cent record on the turf. Midnight Cruiser showed improved form here last time out but he didn't shape that day as though he was crying out for this step-up in trip and on that basis he is taken on. Clive Cox has his stable in good form at present so Louise Bonne, who won her maiden in good style last time, has to be interest on her handicap debut. A good race to start the day and the vote goes to Forte Dei Marmi.
