This should lay between Merwaha and Liberty Flag and the vote just goes to the latter. Liberty Flag put up a better-than-average racecourse debut when second to Hilltop Rhapsody at Windsor last month, and trainer John Gosden has given her a full month to get over those exertions, which should prove beneficial. The daughter of Kingmambo looked as though further will suit in time, staying on strongly as she did from down the field to get to within half-a-length of the winner that day, and she looks capable of improving sufficiently to win this. Merwaha comes into the race the more experienced of the leading protagonists, having had two previous runs at Goodwood and Ascot, and showing some decent form in the process. However, she perhaps did not come on quite as much for her first run as expected last time, and there may not be a huge amount more to come even after just two outings. Little else makes appeal on what they have achieved so far and we will side with Liberty Flag to raise her standard.
