A poor handicap and Perfect Bounty is likely to be fancied despite never having run on Turf as she won on Tapeta at Wolverhampton in April and is just 3lb higher. ESSAKA's only victory came over the minimum trip on fast ground and he's been looking one-paced, though his recent runs have been on soft going - a return to these conditions can see him back on the winning trail. Castanea has had the requisite three maiden runs to receive a handicap mark and showed a bit more dash at Chepstow while the speedily-bred Royal Normandy is another having his first start in a handicap. Grand Proposal looked a fair prospect when a close third in a much better race at Goodwood last season and should do better after an opening run at Bath last month.
