Only two of the nine runners in the first division of this maiden have the benefit of experience and CONTENTMENT showed more than Poet's Vanity on debut. William Haggas' filly is a half-sister to Elronaq, who finished third in the July Stakes, and she will have learnt plenty from her fourth at Newmarket where she missed the break and then ran green. Of the newcomers, Secret Soul is a fascinating long-term prospect as she's a half-sister to three winners including the top-class filly Secret Gesture and Ballydoyle's Group 3 winner Sir Isaac Newton, though probably won't come into her own until tackling middle distances next year.
