Tavern Times won a Grade 3 hurdle by 17 lengths in October 2011 but didn't race again until February of this year. He makes his handicap debut over fences after a cracking effort at Ballinrobe and looks certain to be there at the finish. Shield has yet to win over fences but came closest when beaten less than a length by Abarta at Galway three weeks ago. Pierlow has run poorly over hurdles since scoring over fences at Tipperary and it's difficult to get away from the chances of OLD SUPPORTER. Dennis Cullen's charge has made all and jumped well at Tramore and Killarney in the past few weeks and, though 7lb higher than his latest success, a hat-trick looks on the cards.
