Rancher Lass landed a Musselburgh handicap over this trip in December and was still there with every chance when falling two out at Leopardstown in March. Dual point-to-point winner and successful hurdler Crack Of Thunder was sent to Perth for his debut for Gordon Elliott a week ago and was well supported but never looked like winning. Better B Quick returned from points to land a Wexford handicap in June before finding 2m4f too short there next time. He was in touch when falling four out at Limerick last time so should get involved here. Winning point-to-pointer PRESENT NEWS finished third in that latter event after leading for a long way at one stage. If ridden with a bit more restraint here he may be capable of hanging on. Mark Enright is riding on the crest of a wave after a brilliant Galway so winning hurdler Jamesmichael could pick up some prize money.
