held up and behind, never a factor
led 1f, tracked leader, led again over 6f out, driven over 2f out, ridden and stayed on well final furlong
chased leaders, ridden 2f out, weakened over 1f out
tracked leaders, outpaced 5f out, ridden over 2f out, edged left approaching final furlong, stayed on well, not reached winner
mid-division, pushed along and outpaced halfway, weakened over 3f out
keen early, held up, headway on outside 3f out, ridden and effort overt 2f out, weakened inside final furlong
led after 1f to over 6f out, chased winner, ridden and lost place over 2f out
in rear, lost touch over 3f out, soon well behind, eased
tracked leaders, headway 3f out, ridden to chance winner 2f out, kept on one pace final furlong
Not the best contest but there are one or two who we should look at here, namely Many Thanks, Gold Bar and Odabella, with the selection being Many Thanks. Ed Dunlop's filly will definitely be much better for this step up to 10 furlongs, after doing well enough without ever really having the speed to win over a mile on her only two starts. With more time to get involved here and some track experience on her side, we expect her to improve enough to land this prize. Gold Bar has a better draw and more experience than the selection. She is also beautifully bred and will surely show more ability on the track than she has done so far, including when hanging badly when blinkered last time. Although she could never be a selection here on that evidence, she is one to note in the market if connections feel she has come right. Odabella has been tried over all sorts of different tracks and surfaces so far, but her debut effort on a galloping course like this gives punters some encouragement that, coupled with some ability at this sort of level, she could again show up well over a trip she stays. She could be one for a place here, but our vote remains with Many Thanks.
