      Verdict

      Silverhay could spring a surprise of sorts in this small field handicap, with Zeitgeist and Marine City to complete the frame. The selection looked a potential improver when staying on strongly over a mile in heavy ground at Beverley last time in what was not a bad handicap. He is bred to get this sort of trip with plenty of stamina on his dam's side and the faster ground will help to ensure he gets home. David Barron continues to have winners and this can add to his tally. Zeitgeist has already shown improved form when tried at this trip for the first time at Windsor last month. There looks to be more to come from him but we are not convinced that ground this quick will be ideal and we are happy to oppose him on this occasion. Marine City is the only other runner to make appeal. She was a soft ground Folkestone winner last month over this trip, but failed to cope with a fair step up in class last time at Chester. There is still plenty of room for improvement as she has been green and back in more realistic company she can pick up some money. For the selection though we will take Silverhay to score.
