Verdict
It is hard to look past HAFAWA who is taken to get the better of Court Gown and Gobama. Mark Johnston won this race two years ago and his runners continue in good form. Hafawa has only had the two runs but she looks quite useful and she was only narrowly beaten by Exotic Beauty in a Conditions race last time. This extra furlong should suit and she is a strong pick. Court Gown has to be of interest as she showed up really well on her debut at Doncaster when she finished a close second behind Celestial Tryst. She did not get a clear run that day so it was a solid effort and if she can build on that then she would have a big chance. Gobama won at Salisbury on her debut and although that race has thrown up one winner, it has also seen 10 that have subsequently been unplaced so it is questionable exactly what she achieved that day. The Starboard Bow was outclassed at Salisbury in Listed company when he pulled too hard, but he can't be ruled out back in this more realistic company. Hafawa sets a decent standard and should be hard to beat.
