Rey Loopy has become a specialist on Tapeta at Newcastle having gained all three of his victories there. He's only run twice on Turf and is on a 6lb lower mark. Shamaheart won this in 2016 and scored again on the track later in the year. He was in poor form last season but has dropped to a lenient mark as a result and didn't run badly on his reappearance after a long break at Beverley. CE LA VIE, who ran in the 1,000 Guineas a year ago, is nowhere near that level but dropped into this company on a reasonable mark here last week and only just failed to catch La Sioux so she can go one better. Gun Case has managed to win five races including over 7f here while Abushamah has won a Class 3 handicap from an 18lb higher mark over the course and distance though that was in 2016.
