An open heat where the pin comes down on HAIGH HALL to win it for Richard Fahey, while Tangerine Trees is an obvious alternative and Bonnie Prince Blue is considered. The selection was off the track for almost two seasons, but connections have persevered with this four-year-old who was not seen from the 2008 running of the Listed Hilary Needler Trophy at Beverley until running with some promise at Musselburgh earlier in the month. This extra furlong won't be a problem and with fitness proven she can come good this time. Tangerine Trees was a Pontefract scorer last time and this trip on fast ground suits the Bryan Smart inmate. However, a 5lb penalty means that he needs a career best to win and previous tries from this high in the handicap have been moderate. Bonnie Prince Blue has been on the go for a long time and has the ability to get involved, though he would prefer some cut to be seen to best effect, while distance winner Favourite Girl acts on this going but just looks a little too high in the weights at present. Methaaly has conditions and trip to suit and is back on a winning mark once more, so has to be respected, but preference is for Haigh Hall.
