      Verdict

Groundworker had been threatening for some time before a comfortable victory at Hamilton and a 5lb rise shouldn't prevent another big run. CUPPACOCO, beaten in a seller at Thirsk, was caught right on the line over Beverley's stiff 5f when attempting to concede 8lb to Oriental Splendour and can hold on over this easier course. Glyder is 1-27 and was behind the selection at Beverley but Piazon, who refused to race at Ripon, ran his best race for a while at Thirsk on Tuesday and won't mind the ground. Paco Ecostar has yet to win but would have a chance if recapturing last year's form from a much reduced mark.
