Father Bertie has won the final of this series for the past two years and any further rain would greatly aid his cause. He's on a 1lb lower mark than last year and, having his first subsequent start on his favourite track, looks certain to go well. The three-year-old KYNREN followed a Carlisle maiden victory by landing a Newmarket handicap over 7f. The extra distance and straight track won't be a problem and, though 6lb higher, can complete a hat-trick. Poet's Beauty was in fine form early last year winning handicaps at Leicester and Nottingham but hasn't run since July, though the former victory came after a long break. Fieldsman has been narrowly beaten in his last three races though keeps going up in the ratings while Omeros could only stay on at one pace when well supported at Chelmsford.
