Very little for backers to go on in the opening race on the Pontefract card with only four of the 12 declared runners having seen a racecourse previously. The David Evans-trained Waterline Dancer holds a fitness edge on all of her rivals having had the benefit of two starts so far, most latterly when chasing home New Foundation at Warwick earlier in the month. The daughter of Danehill Dancer should again be in the shake-up, however, Lady West created a favourable impression on her all-weather debut at Southwell last time when finding only Willhewiz too good and this speedily-bred filly, from the Bill Turner stable that has a good record with its juveniles, will take some catching. Of the newcomers Alan Bailey's Good Health appeals on breeding, while the booking of Kevin Darley for the Bryn Palling-trained Carna takes the eye.
