    Verdict

Steaming went close over 1m4f at Thirsk but struggled dropped back in trip when favourite at Windsor. Itsalonglongroad improved for the longer distance when second over 1m2f at Ayr on his recent reappearance but COUNT SIMON is preferred. He finished a long way behind Cape Coast when runner-up over track and trip last time but the latter went on to win a handicap so the form looks better in hindsight. Mancini ran well over a shorter trip at Windsor in between a couple of modest efforts.
