FUTURIST has taken a little time to come to hand compared to many of his fellow Godolphin inmates, but he can get it right this time, with Pena Dorada and Dream Spinner also having claims. The selection was given a very quiet debut over an inadequate 7f, before stepping up to this trip at Bath last time. Fast ground and a stiff 10f like this looks ideal for the Halling colt and he can make it third time lucky with natural improvement anticipated. Pena Dorada improved significantly for his Thirsk debut when going close at Hamilton last time. The Alan Jarvis-trained juvenile may not, however, be suited by ground this quick and although the step up in trip should suit he has to prove himself on this going. Dream Spinner reverts to this maiden from a Kempton handicap, after which the assessor dropped him to a mark of 68. The stamina on his dam's side suggests that this extra couple of furlongs may see him to better effect on ground that will suit. Karamojo Bell has shown up quite well in a couple of maidens so far. This trip will be just about as far as he would want to go and he may be a better proposition in handicaps. Loyaliste stayed on well after running green when favourite on his Goodwood debut. The extra furlong here will be a plus and provided he acts on good to firm he looks likely to be a leading contender. Always Roses looks the more interesting of the debutants, though is not from a yard noted for juvenile winners first time up and preference is for Futurist.
