      Verdict

      Forceful Speed is clearly endowed with plenty of stamina as he won over an extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton before only beaten a length over this trip at Newcastle. But he has to give 6lb, less Saffie Osborne’s claim, to MIDNIGHT LION. The Johnstons’ Nathaniel colt has a middle-distance pedigree and wasn’t stopping himself when runner-up over the trip at Goodwood – he has been keeping slightly better company. His stable companion Red Bird is by Australia out of an Irish 1m2f winner so is certainly worth a second look with Fairbanks open to improvement after just one run.
