Verdict
With Shamsan yet to convince over fences, this looks to concern Mersey Beat and Chalcedony. Mersey Beat has plenty of experience over fences and is sure to run well, but he faces a tough opponent in Chalcedony, who has already beaten him. The latter is open to improvement over fences, having only had four outings to date over the larger obstacles and it will be something of a surprise if Richard Rowe's chestnut gelding cannot take this en route to better things.
