In depth

Verdict

Desert Tommy gets the call here ahead of Captain Windsor. Desert Tommy is a 120-rated hurdling winner from last October and, if able to transfer that level of form to fences on his debut over the larger obstacles, he would hold very good claims. Captain Windsor hails from a strong stable and, while he has not exactly set the world alight in a light jumping career, this is a soft race and he races in first-time blinkers today. Of the others, Eurocelt needs to find improved form and Oncle Kid would need to be better than he appears to be coming into his British debut. The market might say differently but, for us, the selection is Desert Tommy.
