A very interesting opener with useful types from the Flat seeking to make their mark over timber. John Ferguson has enjoyed a stellar season and French import Donatorio may well improve from nothing more than an adequate debut effort when backed into favouritism at Southwell. He was well behind SOLARAS EXHIBITION that day and Tim Vaughan's consistent gelding is taken to confirm the form, especially with the yard having returned to its usual prolific form. Wayward Glance, a son of Sadler's Wells and formerly owned by The Queen, was talented at best on the level but has only displayed modest form in two outings over timber when his hurdling technique has proved somewhat fallible. He cannot be omitted from calculations though as there should be improvement to come from this potentially useful hurdling recruit. Winning Spark is an each-way possible.
