Another close one to call can go to Gimme Shelter ahead of Catch The Perk, Panmure and Jordan's Ridge. Gimme Shelter is a real stamina-laden mare as proved by her success over four miles at Hexham in March, after which trainer Steve Marshall revealed that he was considering retiring her at one point earlier in the season. It appears that she may just have had a minor virus though, as she has been in good form of late, and after a fine second over timber at Kelso, is back over the bigger obstacles today. Granted the going will be plenty fast enough for her, but she will certainly not be stopping at the finish that is for sure, and another good effort is on the cards. Catch The Perk was successful over the course and distance last September and lost no caste in defeat when chasing home the progressive Joaaci at Ayr last month. The slight drop back in trip will help his cause and he is a big threat. Panmure kept on well when scoring over two and a half miles at Market Rasen and also catches the eye, while Jordan's Ridge is back over fences and is still well weighted on his form of two years ago. Lodestar ran well over further at Sedgefield and appears to have improved for the fitting of blinkers, so is yet another for the short-list, but Gimme Shelter gets our vote.
