In depth

Verdict

SHALLOW HAL ended a long losing run on Turf with a victory at Carlisle. He’s won off much higher marks on the all-weather and can go in again. Northern Spirit won over today’s trip at Newcastle earlier but most of the remainder drop down from 7f. That includes Wadi Bani, a losing favourite at Newbury last time though still preferred to Mutanaaseq and Cubanista.
