With those to have already seen the starter looking to be a moderate bunch, the newcomers look the horses to be with Murashah and Underwriter looking two of the more likely suitors. Murashah is a Storm Cat colt and couldn't be better bred given that his mother, Shadayid, was a 1,000 Guineas winner in England. He would only have to possess a modicum of their shared abilities to be good enough here. Underwriter was scheduled to be ridden by Dettori but his Godolphin commitments have led to a replacement jockey today. The horse has a distinctly American-led pedigree with his sire finishing second in the Breeders Cup Turf to In The Wings many moons ago. Tetou is well related to a number of overseas winners. Any market confidence in Brian Meehan's filly would be of major interest at this level. Count Waleswki was a long way clear of the third in a recent Windsor maiden. He looks capable of landing a maiden at some stag e but probably not today. In a heat where the market should offer most clues, we will stick with Frankie Dettori and Murashah to land first prize.
