TAURUS TWINS is in great heart and can confirm his superiority over Red Rossini on these terms. Midnight Fantasy and Bold Rose also have solid claims and complete the shortlist. Bold Rose won off 56 on the all-weather at Southwell in February but had no problem following up when switched to turf at Chepstow a fortnight ago. Now on a 9lb higher mark, Bold Rose, despite holding her form well, needs to pull something out of the fire and, as she already has a bit to find with the selection; a place in the frame looks to be her ultimate hope today. Midnight Fantasy - a lightly raced filly that has improved since being upped to six furlongs - returned from a long break to win impressively at Ripon earlier in the month. And, as the assessor has given her a chance by leaving her on a mark of 70 for her handicap debut; Rae Guest's filly is likely to be a popular choice. Red Rossini, like a number of Richard Hannon's string, was set a stiff test after winning as a juvenile and struggled as a result. However, he is not without ability and, assuming the first-time visor sparks him into life, a big run can be anticipated. His breeding suggests he may be suited by a stiffer test of stamina, so he is one to bear in mind if he is stepped up in distance after this. However, Taurus Twins gets the nod as the best bet on this occasion. The three-year-old has shown plenty of dash over the minimum trip but ran a blinder in defeat over six furlongs at Beverley last week. Taurus Twins is obviously open to more improvement at this distance and the mount of Dane O'Neill is a worthy candidate to do the honours today.
