Verdict

Michael Chapman's Sacrilege escaped a penalty for his success at Newmarket two starts ago over a mile and was able to follow up off the same mark over the same course and distance a week later but the handicapper has now raised him 5lbs for that latest victory and a better bet over this longer trip looks to be MARJURY DAW, who gets the vote ahead of General Tufto. The last mentioned has shown improvement in his last two starts and was not beaten far off the same mark that he races off today on his most recent start at Beverley and he should be thereabouts again. Julia Feilden's Bavarica won narrowly at Newbury last time and has claims but a 5lb rise for that win looks harsh, while Michael Chapman's Orpen Wide has slipped to a fair mark but is hard to back with any confidence on recent showing and looks the clear second best of the two runners representing the yard. The vote then goes the way of James Given's Marjury Daw, who has transferred her form on the Polytrack to turf with improved efforts with each outing, running out the good winner of a Redcar handicap at the beginning of the month, and she can defy the 7lb rise for that win.
