Red Chief did not seem to get home over three miles at Stratford last time and looks worth another chance back over today's trip in a race where General Smith and Siena Star are rated the main dangers. The selection has shown improved form this summer, winning nicely at Perth prior to that effort at Stratford when a creditable second behind Herne Bay. A reproduction of recent form should suffice for the five-year-old. Red Canyon was behind the selection at Stratford and seems held but such is the form of Colin Tizzard's horses that he cannot be ruled out. Kirov King disappointed at Uttoxeter last time and is probably best watched now so a bigger threat could come from Siena Star, who has run with credit of late and is entitled to be thereabouts again. Taranai has claims on the form shown here last month but is another held by the selection on running last time and of more interest may be recent Market Rasen winner General Smith, although this trip may stretch his stamina.
