Probably not as competitive as the numbers may suggest with MARETTIMO taken to make the most of his experience. He receives the age allowance and had the remainder well accounted for when runner-up at Wincanton when last seen in late May. His chance is further strengthened by the useful claim of Seam Houlihan and he's preferred to Delirant. The Pipe French import looks one for the future and it will be disappointing if he fails to progress from a solid if unspectacular debut for the yard in early June. Go On Mayson, Winter Spice and American History have shown some initial promise with preference for the latter who may emerge as the main danger. Avocadeau, a five-time winner on the Flat, is an interesting recruit to hurdles and should be noted in the market.
