Verdict
An uninspiring end to proceedings can go the way of Tiquet ahead of Rideaway Rose, Ivorsagoodun and The Glen. Bets should be kept to a minimum here as getting involved with maiden hurdlers is the way to the poor house, but it is hoped that Tiquet can step up on his ultimately promising third at Fontwell three weeks ago. I say ultimately because for a long way at the Sussex track it looked as though he had learnt nothing since making his debut in December, but suddenly after the fourth last he started to pick up and was really looking the part at the finish. If that was no flash in the pan, then Nicky Henderson's charge should go close over this longer trip. Rideaway Rose has found one too good on each of her last two starts in this sort of company here and will no doubt be there or thereabouts again, while Ivorsagoodun is a long-standing maiden, and does not have as much scope as The Glen who has not shown much yet over hurdles but was successful on the Flat at Chester last summer. In truth, nothing makes much appeal, but Tiquet may prove to be the answer.
