In depth

Verdict

BASHFUL BOY may not have the most appealing form figures when taken in isolation but he's been running far better than they suggest and has also been in good form on the level, winning the last twice at Salisbury and Nottingham. He hasn't been cut much slack by the handicapper, perhaps not surprisingly, but it will be disappointing if he doesn't go close in this company despite topweight. Hunting Percival's Stratford success on Tuesday was hard to predict as he'd pulled up on two of his previous three runs so it's all a question of if he can back up that surprise win. He just denied Pink Eyed Pedro that day, but the latter is seen as the more reliable of the pair and makes more appeal. Halifax is not that easy to catch right and therefore the youngster at the party, Komedy Kicks, completes the shortlist.
