A moderate maiden to get matters underway and we prefer Plume D'Oudairies to High Life and In The Lead. The selection ran a fair enough race last time out at Huntingdon but acted as if she might have preferred a sharper track. That looks to be the case at Newton Abbot and against weaker opposition, we seek not to oppose. High Life has had chances in the past but is not the greatest finisher in the world. Her recent second to Stoop To Conquer represented her best effort for some time so it will be interesting to see if there is any market support this afternoon. In The Lead was a maiden on the level for John Dunlop. The mare was returning after 518 days off the track and was well backed to oblige at Chepstow first time up. With the second, Hendre Hotshot, scoring since, her chances are obvious. Falcons Gift made no show in a bumper on her latest start and is watched on introduction to the hurdling game. Forest Emerald is dropped in trip following unsuccessful forays over further. Valley Hall hails from a yard in good form at present and could be dangerous if granted a soft lead. Plume D'Oudairies appears to have all the right ticks in the boxes and we side with her accordingly.
