Another competitive event in prospect for these three-year-olds, where COTILLION is just preferred to Decision, Times Up and newcomer Laaheb. The William Haggas-trained selection was coltish in the preliminaries and then ran green until halfway but still managed to finish runner-up to Sam Sharp on his soft ground Newbury debut last month. He will come on plenty for that experience and there should be a fair bit more to come from him, while he won't mind a sound surface. Clive Cox's Decision probably posted the best piece of form from this lot when also runner-up at Newbury on the same card, in his case in handicap company. He was thrashed back in a maiden at Haydock last time though and now has a bit to prove. Times Up has hit the frame in three maidens and is kept in this sphere, where the drop back to 10f may well prove positive. Charger is an interesting newcomer whose pedigree suggests that he would have made a nice juvenile. For whatever reason he has bypassed racing at two, however, but he should be at home over this trip and is respected. Perhaps more interesting is the Michael Jarvis-trained Laaheb. This Cape Cross gelding is very well related and that pedigree suggests that this trip will prove to be ideal for him. He is likely to know his job and could give them all plenty to do, though we will take Cotillion to score.
