Verdict

In what is the usual guessing game in this time-honoured event, War And Peace is selected to come out on top over King's Event, Sky Masterson and Zifaaf. As ever there are some extremely well-bred individuals on show for the first time here, including the Aidan O'Brien-trained War And Peace who has two Group 1 entries later this year. Obviously highly thought of then, the son of Danehill is taken to make an immediate impact under Mick Kinane. King's Event is American-bred and holds no fancy entries at this stage, but is reported to have been working well, so has to be respected along with Sky Masterson, whose dam is related to the likes of Rainbow Quest and Warning. The filly Zifaaf is pencilled in for the Oaks, and Henry Cecil has an interesting contender in Triple Beat, whose dam's pedigree stretches back to the top-class Warren Place inmate Lyphard. Plenty to look forward to for the future here, and just a small vote goes to War And Peace.
