Verdict

AL AASY won the Bahrain Trophy on this card last year and arrives on the back of a neck defeat in the Group 1 Coronation Cup at Epsom. The Haggas colt should have the measure of the penalised Group 2 winner Sir Ron Priestley on these terms and looks the one to beat. Bangkok seems best on the Polytrack nowadays having won at the All -Weather Championships before disappointing in the Huxley at Chester while Highest Ground has plenty to find at the weights having so far failed to match last year’s second in the Dante at York. Star Safari won a Group 3 at Meydan back in February but this is much tougher.
