Caius Chorister and Paradias fought out a finish over 1m3f at Goodwood in July with Sheer Rocks fourth. Alan King’s charge can come out best of that trio today. Sea King was just beaten over 1m6f at Haydock two weeks ago but was only fourth when favourite over this trip at Newcastle earlier, more than four lengths behind THUNDEROUS. Kevin Ryan’s runner didn’t get the run of the race subsequently at Haydock and should be in the firing-line here. Cosmic Desert, Al Nafir, Wild Crusade and First Ruler all represent Godolphin with William Buick partnering the latter and William Haggas saddles La Yakel and Educator. Simply Sondheim has won his last six but is upped in grade but Maksud has been lightly raced and is dropped in class.
