Persian Express, Kasumi and Formax catch the eye here in a very competitive contest where none can be written off with any certainty, with Persian Express the selection to complete a hat trick. A triple winner on the all-weather last year, Persian Express found himself a little high in the handicap before winning his last two starts in good style. He has only been raised four pounds for his recent course and distance success and looks the one they all have to beat. Formax is yet to win in this country but has been highly tried of late, running a terrific race in a classy handicap at Goodwood last time. He looks to need a longer trip than this though and may be found wanting for a turn of foot. Kasumi is a thoroughly consistent type, and won a lucrative handicap at Brighton in game fashion last time. He is highly respected, and receiving weight from his principal rivals he will not go down without a fight. Persian Express struck form at this time of year last season and he is on a roll now and gets the vote.
