Verdict
Second Step struck in this grade at Goodwood last time but has to carry a penalty, though had earlier finished ahead of the frustrating Midterm at Newbury. The latter’s trainer, Sir Michael Stoute, also run PLATITUDE and it could be worth taking a chance on Jim Crowley’s mount as he seems to go well fresh and was second in the Bahrain Trophy here last year. He will also handle any give in the ground and the front-running Lord Yeats should ensure his stamina comes into play. Mount Logan made a satisfactory reappearance at Goodwood while this is Red Verdon’s easiest task for a while, though he still looks out of sorts.
