In depth

Verdict

John Gosden has excelled with forays north over the winter and his CASEY JONES (NAP) can complete his course hat-trick. He took time for the penny to drop on debut but rated far more impressive when making all to follow-up last month. He's going the right way and can concede weight all round. It will be interesting to see how he fares when asked to tackle turf. Claims can be made for all rivals, of which Rude Awakening makes most appeal on the back of a much-improved effort when making a winning reappearance here. He's a 6lb penalty but still appeals as respectably treated. We Are The World is two from his last three but his overall form level suggests improvement is required to handle the selection. Arthenia showed sufficient juvenile promise to suggest she'll do well in handicaps but tackles race-fit rivals, whilst Dawn Dancer has finished runner-up three times on Fibresand and now tries a different artificial surface.
