Beverley second Simply Shining will be fancied to go one better here after the defection of Cape Samba but BARREN BROOK may be capable of ending his long losing run. Mick Easterby's gelding hasn't won since 2011 but is well treated as a result and he caught the eye on his reappearance at Pontefract when finishing ahead of both Warfare and Hakuna Matata. Dumbarton is fit from hurdling but could find this on the sharp side and Dual Mac's maiden form is nothing special. Bartack would have preferred quicker ground but is still preferred to veteran The Osteopath of the others.
