Our Sunnie, Geordie Girl and Rub of the Relic are the three to look at here with Our Sunnie taken to step up further on a good run last time to take this. After a moderate effort first time out Rub of the Relic has shown some ability in two all-weather contests, being placed on each occasion. He may have to settle for the same again here as this looks more competitive. Geordie Girl was unfancied for her Thirsk debut but ran much better than her starting price suggested when staying on to be second. She will come on for the experience but the value of the form is hard to assess, although the winner of that Thirsk contest was beaten less than two lengths in an Ascot conditions race next time. Our Sunnie has run twice at Ripon, stepping up on a decent debut when run out of it by a classy Sheikh Mohammed owned Mark Johnston newcomer. The going was soft on that occasion, and anticipating further improvement, Our Sunnie can lose his maiden tag.
