          Verdict

          Newcastle 3:55 A number of possibles in an open event but Sawwaah has been knocking on the door in similar company and is just preferred. The David Nicholls-trained gelding caught the eye when a strong finishing sixth in the Doncaster Spring Mile before seeing too much daylight at Nottingham next time. The six-year-old then ran with credit when a close third in a competitive handicap at Windsor earlier in the month and a reproduction will see him involved in the finish once again. Oscar Pepper has been in fair form on the all-weather this winter but had no excuses when a beaten favourite at Musselburgh last time and this looks tougher. Tribal Prince and Gifted Flame both shaped well on their respective reappearances and both are entitled to prove capable of more while Tedstale had respeactable form in better grade last season and could go well for his in-form stable.
