Verdict
Paddy The Piper can atone for a recent slip-up to take victory at the expense of Master Papa and Beat The Heat. Lenny Lungo's charge has always been held in high regard at home and was sent off odds-on to score at Ayr before unshipping the rider at the sixth. There have clearly have been no ill-effects and granted a clear round, he should take the beating. Master Papa has to be respected on a long journey North. He has the tendency to take liberties at his fences and this will no doubt have had extensive schooling back at home. Beat The Heat has been in tremendous heart of late under both codes. If anything, the step up to two miles four furlongs should suit if that recent Wetherby run is anything to go by and he comes here with a live chance. Now Then Sid looks to have it to do against better opposition while Supreme Developer, a once-useful bumper horse in Ireland went drastically the wrong way over hurdles and given that he gave those obstacles little respect, will have needed all Ferdy Murphy's know-how in order to be anything like ready for a racecourse appearance. Barring accidents, this looks a fine opportunity for Paddy The Piper to score en route to bigger things.
