        Verdict

        This is another competitive event in which American Cousin, Torrent and Lincoln Dancer look to be the leading players and the vote is given to American Cousin. The selection is a course and distance winner who scored in good style at Beverely last time when beating Henry Tun. The manner of that win suggested that he might be one to stay on the right side of, and from a good draw he looks the one to be on. Torrent is not easy to catch right but he won last time out in a banded stakes race at Wolverhampton to show that he is in good form. However, this is more difficult and although he might be capable of claiming some place money others are preferred. Lincoln Dancer put in a much improved effort at Beverely last time behind Fonthill Road and if he could reproduce that effort here then he would have a solid chance. He does have ground conditions to suit today but he is not the most consistent. Tricky Cyclist is well-drawn and is from a shrewd yard so is worth noting in the market, but for the winner we return to American Cousin.
