      Verdict

A tricky start for punters on what looks to be a fiendishly difficult card. Escalade is likely to be a warm order following a succession of consistent efforts in similar grade. He has dropped 9lb since finishing fifth to Nimello at Leicester and the Brisbourne stable is in form. The Willie Musson trained Satyr is always to be watched in the market. His form is on a faster surface but there was a lot to like about his second at York last time out. Desert Island Disc is a previous winner on the surface and invariably runs a bad race. Double Ransom won a couple of moderate affairs on bottomless ground. He has been off for a while though and could be opposed here. Inspector General is solid in his grade and should give another good account of himself. Steve Gollings likes going for touches in this type of contest and if there is any money for Khayam, it should be followed. Sky Dome is a likeable sort from the Mark Tompkins yard who although in the twilight of his career, is not without a chance. Factual Lad is yet to conclusively prove that he stays the trip. An each-way TEAMtalk selection is given to Montoya. He was not disgraced behind Miss Pitz last time out and is sure to appreciate both trip and going.
