The improving Peak To Creek will be a tough nut to crack, but providing the ground isn't too fast Sabbeeh is the one to be with. Michael Jarvis's colt was made favourite for the Group 3 Coventry Stakes on the back of a runaway victory on his debut at Ripon on soft ground. A failure at Ascot, where he found the ground too quick for him, he returned to winning ways on the easier surface at Doncaster, where he had Subsequent Listed winner New Mexican well held in second. With any amount of improvement to come, he is a confident choice. Peek To Creek has enjoyed a wonderful first season picking up six races along the way. However, all of his wins have been over six-furlongs and while he does possess a useful turn of foot, it remains to be seen whether this trip will suit as well. Chinsola hasn't been disgraced of late, but his overall profile doesn't suggest he is up to winning this, while the likes of Crocodile Dundee, although open to improvement and Jack Sullivan, look to have too much on at this level. Josephus had three subsequent winners behind when winning his maiden at Newmarket, so it would be folly to underestimate him, while Millbag faces his hardest task to date. Last years winning stable are represented by Mutawaffer, who has done little wrong and is sure to be a big player here, along with Sgt Pepper, whose chance is not to be sneezed at. However, while rain would increase the confidence in Sabbeeh, he is still worth the vote in an intriguing contest.
