Verdict

Percy Veer will not be troubled by this stamina test but hasn't been seen since the winter campaign and that concern points one towards AURORA GRAY. Charlie Bennett, riding with plenty of confidence at present, takes off a useful 3lb which will prove very useful over this trip and it would not surprise to see stable companion, Cousin Khee, make the running to ensure a proper gallop. The selection ran well over this trip when third at Pontefract last time and looks the safest option. Champagne Champ, also a possible pace angle, has no stamina doubts either and has been in consistent form but does have to concede plenty of weight to the selection, whilst Pumblechook has never tackled this trip and needs to put a modest effort last time behind him. Sole three-year-old Jukebox Jive is on a tempting mark and of interest but does step up a full half mile in trip here.
