Corran Ard is intriguing now returned to the flat, however Rosbay has been threatening to strike for a while and assuming that he is not friendless in the betting, he can take this prize. Tim Easterby's gelding has been unable to get his head in front this season but he has been running well in defeat. Whilst his performances have cut little ice with the handicapper, he is not on a bad mark now and he handles any surface. Sam Lord provided a shock recently at Windsor but that race almost fell into his lap in the way it was run and he needs to improve to defy a rise in the weights, as does Hunting Country but he does looks a progressive three-year-old. Officer didn't show much on his recent run after a spell over in Dubai, so a bigger danger may be the ultra-consistent Just Lille. Jeer has claims, especially with young David Probert taking off seven, whilst Royal Jet and Strategic Mount may both derive some physical improvement from their recent reappearances. At a price Humungous could run well with the cheek-pieces swapped for blinkers, however it is Rosbay who gets the nod.
