Virgin Snow ran out of steam in the closing stages of a Group 3 contest over 1m2f at Newcastle. She should stay this far but there are no doubts about LA LUNE (NAP) lasting home. Henry Candy’s filly went close to lifting a Listed prize at Pontefract when second to Antonia De Vega, rated 107, on her reappearance and a bold bid looks likely on that evidence. Makawee wasn’t far behind the selection at Pontefract while Vivid Diamond has won at this level before, albeit over a longer trip. Most of the rest have been handicapping with Ryan Moore’s presence on Shailene taking the eye while Cabaletta is interesting back on a faster surface having struggled in soft ground in the Lancashire Oaks last time.
