Ballyandy, who runs earlier on the card, won this last year en route to victory in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham and other recent winners include the smart Barter’s Hill and Shutthefrontdoor, who went on to win the Irish Grand National. Daphne Du Clos was only beaten a head in a Listed race at Cheltenham on his UK debut but four-year-olds have a terrible record in this so we’ll also pass over Dynamite Dollars and Point Of Principle. Western Ryder is the only one of these to have won more than once so he has 4lb extra to carry and that may have opened the door for KAYF MARINER. Though running green on debut at Bangor, he still beat the odds-on Kildisart with any amount in hand and the first two pulled well clear. Infinite Sun beat Western Ryder on debut at Market Rasen in November but there shouldn’t be much between that pair on today’s revised terms.
