    Verdict

Sudona remains 9lb higher than last year’s win at Yarmouth though still finished in front of Cogital when fifth at Sandown. High Acclaim is usually thereabouts without winning while Carp Kid has failed to figure since scoring over a longer trip at Chepstow in May. Anif went close in an amateurs’ race at Goodwood last time when BALMORAL CASTLE was well beaten but today’s faster surface and longer trip will suit the latter and he gets a speculative vote to end a long losing run off his current mark.
