DESERT BEN hasn't won since beating a huge field over 5f here in April 2008. However, he's been in very good form this summer and the booking of Keith Donoghue, a very strong young rider whose last victory was in a beginners' chase, is a real bonus. Mini Chou is undoubtedly on the upgrade and won nicely over 6f at Dundalk but whether she will handle this ground under her penalty is another matter. One Of Three is consistent enough and will enjoy the conditions, though her last success was over 7f from a 10lbs lower mark. Silk Slippers hasn't had too much racing and may be suited by dropping back in trip as she shows good early pace while Mt Weather has the not inconsiderable advantage of having Joseph O'Brien in the plate.
